When I began practicing, I joined a class to get back into shape. For me, this was a comfortable transition and not intimidating. As my fitness routine became more regimented over time, I continued with yoga, finding a great benefit in some of the deep stretching. Yoga is complimentary to my fitness routine and continued to provide more benefits the longer I continued. Check out some of the many benefits below!
Yoga is not only a physical practice, but also creates a strong mind-body connection. Asana (movement) is only one eighth of what makes up yoga as a whole (breathing is also one eighth of yoga).
