In 2017 Julie retired from her career as an elementary school teacher and decided to dive deeper into the world of fitness. She became certified through the RRCA as a running coach, and a Les Mills instructor in both Body Pump and Body Combat.
Her love of exercise began as a kid, competing on the swim and track teams. Fast forward to her 40s: work, husband, children and life got in the way and she found herself overweight and out of shape. In 2003 Julie joined HealthTRAC and Weight Watchers, improving her fitness & losing 70 pounds. Then running entered her life! Julie has completed many 5k, 10K, 13.1 and 26.2 races and also considers herself a Tri-athlete. Her most rewarding moments as an adult athlete are running the Boston Marathon in 2018 and 2019 and completing an Iron Man 70.3. Julie has coached HealthTRACkers, Fueled up Fridays, Triple Threat, Triathlon Training, Master Swim and many group fitness classes for more than 10 years.
Her success is largely due to the amazing people she has met during my journey as an adult athlete. Julie found that exercising with others caused her to show up, work harder and enjoy it more! Her gift of enthusiasm will make running fun and the hard work easier.
As your running coach Julie can create custom race training plans, help you set and meet short term and long term goals, add variety to your running workouts, improve your race performance and provide motivation, accountability and support.
