Roasted Chickpeas


1 can (15 ounce) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Cooking Oil Spray


  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Gently dry drained chickpeas on a towel and transfer to baking sheet. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Mix garlic powder, salt, onion powder and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle on chickpeas. You may need to massage the chickpeas to get the spices to evenly coat them.
  4. Roast chickpeas for 20 minutes and then shake the pan to roll them around. Roast in oven for additional 10-20 minutes until golden and crispy. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.


Note: To get the chickpeas extra-crunchy, you may want to cool completely after about 30 minutes of baking, then re-bake at 400° F for an additional 20 minutes.
