Membership Cards

You’ll receive a membership card and a 24-hour access card for Granger and Elkhart, which you swipe for entry. Each family member has his or her own membership card.

Allowing someone else to use your membership card to gain access is not allowed and may result in membership termination.

The replacement fee for a lost membership card is $5.

We’re happy to check you in manually at the Welcome Desk should you forget your card on occasion, but entry may be denied to members consistently failing to scan their card upon entry.

Health Risk Questionnaire

All members are required to complete a health risk questionnaire prior to joining.  If you answer ‘yes’ to any of questions on the health risk questionnaire, we contact your physician and/or physical therapist to find out more about the challenges you might be facing and what limitations might exist.

You should reach out to your physician before starting any exercise program, and ask specifically about what kind of activities might be best for you and if there’s anything you should avoid.

Liability Waiver

It’s important to understand that any exercise comes with certain risks. A signed liability waiver is required before using any of our facilities.

Fitness Orientation

Our fitness experts are here to help you begin or continue your fitness journey and reach your fitness goals!

This meeting with a certified fitness specialist provides you an opportunity to discuss your fitness goals and create a plan for success. Additional services include cholesterol screening, blood pressure, body fat composition, an orientation to our strength machines and more, depending on what’s most helpful to you. Your session is custom built to help ensure that you have what you need to get the most out of the club.

Quick Look

Every three months, we like to check in with you and do a very quick re-assessment that covers your weight, blood pressure, resting heart rate, body fat percentage, body mass index, and if you like, a cholesterol and glucose check.  In addition, we want to hear how your exercise program is working for you, and if we can help modify or adjust it in any way.

This is a complimentary part of your membership.  Only the cholesterol/glucose check carries an additional fee of $25.

Age Requirements

Membership is available to individuals 13 years of age and over.  A parent or legal guardian signature is required on the membership agreement when individuals 13 – 17 years of age join.

Members 13 years of age must be accompanied in the water at all times by a parent or legal guardian with using any of our pools.

Our babysitting area, the ‘Youth Activities Studio,” is open to children 12 and under.

Guests under the age of 18 must have a liability form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Beacon Sports Performance programming begins at age 10.

Personal Training

Our team of certified personal trainers offers everything from helping you cross the finish line of your first marathon to workouts that improve your quality of life by making everyday movements easier for you.  If you are interested in training, contact our Personal Training Coordinator.

Contact our Personal Training Coordinators for details on packages and pricing:

Only associates of Beacon Health & Fitness are permitted to train or instruct on premises.  No outside personal trainers, instructors, or independent contractors are permitted.

Cancellations for Personal Training need 12 hours notice to avoid being charged for the session. You may cancel directly with the trainer. If you can’t reach your trainer, contact BHF. In the case of a medical issue, sessions may be postponed. Restarting after an injury requires verification from a physician which includes information about your injury, recommended time off, and any restrictions.  We work close with our Wellness SurroundCare Team to be sure you meet your goals in a safe manner.

Parking

Granger and Elkhart:  Parking is free in our surface parking lot on a first come, first serve basis.  Club members are encouraged not to park immediately in front of the Sports Medicine / Physical Therapy entrance so that patients can most easily access their care providers.

South Bend:  Parking is available in the attached, covered, city parking garage. Two hour parking is free.

With a $10 cash or check deposit, members receive a parking card that allows parking for up to four hours in the garage during any visit. These cards are available at the South Bend BHF Welcome Desk.

The City of South Bend and Beacon Health & Fitness are not responsible for any damage or theft that occurs in the garage, so be safe—don’t leave valuables out and be sure to lock up!

Membership does not confer any authority in the management of the Facility, or any interest in the property or assets of the Facility.

Memberships are non-transferable.

Membership Dues and Charges

Your membership in the Facility renews automatically each year for another full year. Membership constitutes a contractual commitment to pay Facility dues for 12 consecutive months. Withdrawals from the Facility, except for the detailed reasons listed under “Rights to Premature Cancellation” will not relieve a member from fulfilling his/her annual obligation. Written notice of intent to cancel membership by either party is required at least thirty days prior to the anniversary date. Cancellation requests will also be granted throughout a grace period that extends up to three business days following the anniversary date listed on this agreement. This notice must be dated, signed and sent certified mail, or hand delivered. Cancellation will then become effective on your anniversary date.

A new enrollment fee is charged for members coming back more than 30 days after canceling.

Membership Category Changes

A member in good standing may add a spouse or family member to his or her membership at any time. Such a change in category shall constitute an automatic yearly renewal of his/her membership which will alter the anniversary date accordingly. A member in good standing may remove a spouse or family member upon receipt of a request thirty days prior to their anniversary date only.

Facility Dues

Dues may increase from time to time. You’ll be notified at least thirty (30) days prior to any increase in Facility dues, applicable at your next renewal date. Dues are not prorated during times when the Facility is repairing or renovating any of its facilities. Membership is a one year automatically renewing agreement, payable monthly through debit or credit card.

Payment Policies

A one-time enrollment fee is required at the time of joining, and monthly dues are collected on the 15th of each month. Fees for programs, services and products may be paid for with cash, check or credit card. Products are subject to Indiana sales tax.

Damages

Excluding ordinary wear and tear, willfully causing damage to Facility property and/or the property of other members and their guests becomes the financial obligation of the one who caused the damage.
